Dear School Administrator:

Thank you so much for considering my request to student teach in your district. I have been looking forward to this part of my education, and I am thankful for your willingness to allow me to student teach in your district. I am a senior at Dakota State University and my major is Business Education. I will student teach this fall and graduate this December. I will be certified to teach business classes grades 7-12, and I will be certified to teach computer classes in grades K-12, and I will also have a coaching endorsement.

All students have a different style of learning, and I will do my best to connect to each student as an individual, while teaching the class as a whole. My philosophy of education is based off of the social learning theory. I feel that high school students need a strong role model to look up to. I will teach beyond straight lecture, by incorporating visuals and hands on activities for students. My professional goal is to continue learning by attending conferences and seminars, and to further my education. I feel strongly in that every student needs to be treated with respect, and I will follow a classroom management plan that is fair to all students, and is based upon your district’s discipline policy.
